A Happy Spring Break

It definitely is a happy spring break for the little one because he is enjoying it to the highest degree. Their spring break started today and as soon as he got up in the morning, he asked me if it is okay for the kids next door to have a sleepover here. Who am I to say no? Wherever my son is happy, I totally support him.

And I want him to enjoy his vacation fully because he definitely deserves it. He has been an excellent student in school – belonging to the A Honor Roll for the second time now.

A good son certainly deserves a good time. Have fun, son!

She’ll Get Tough and Beat Her Demons

The news about Demi Moore getting into substance abuse is really shocking. I thought all the while that although she was affected by her recent divorce, she was strong enough to face it since that wasn’t her first.

The first time I saw her looking so thin was really surprising. She used to be one of my favorite actresses in Hollywood because aside from the fact that she is beautiful, she is really an excellent actress. I like her movie ‘Ghost’ the best among all.

I think she will be seeking the help of addiction treatment centers. I am not sure, but whatever she chooses, I hope she will get back to her normal life soon.

Black Friday Beckons To Me

It’s just around the corner and I can’t wait to experience it. I am talking about Black Friday which is ready to happen next week. I’ve been hearing about it for a few years but since it only happens in the U.S., I wasn’t able to experience it. We will be in the U.S. two days before Thanksgiving meaning I will get to enjoy Black Friday which is the day after Thanksgiving. Yay! I can’t wait to go on a shopping spree. You do know that it is my weakness, right? (“,)

A Mommy’s Worst Nightmare

Yogi’s accident a week ago today really scared the hell out of me. That was the first time something like that has happened. He broke a bone in his right arm and had to undergo open reduction and cross pinning surgery. The day of the accident was scary enough, but the day of the operation was even scarier. The operation lasted about three hours but the wait seemed to last forever. I actually felt like I lost weight in that short stint because of the raging emotions I had. So I surely won’t be needing diet pill weight loss help. Hehe.

Seriously, it was really traumatic. I am hoping and praying that I won’t experience something like that again because it was really nerve-wracking, though my fiancé has warned me that this is just the beginning with a little boy because he’s been there and done that.

Yogi’s Mishap

It was our last night in Manila when Yogi had an accident. He broke his right humerus bone thus the hotel personnel had to call an ambulance to bring us to the nearest hospital. It was the first time that it happened to Yogi and it was really scary. I didn’t know what to do when I saw his deformed arm.

At the hospital, they’ve done an x-ray to see the damage. But since we’re leaving for home the next day, they just put a cast and a splint on it and advised us to see an ortho in our city.

The x-ray showed a grade 3 fracture. Meaning, Yogi’s humerus bone was not only broken but was also twisted. I will talk about what happened at the consultation with the ortho soon.

He Enjoyed a Three-day Weekend

The country celebrated National Heroes Day yesterday so it was a holiday and there were no classes. The little one enjoyed his three-day weekend to the fullest. He’s been playing computer games the whole three days from the moment he woke up until sun down. Imagine that! I can’t blame him because he has nobody to play with here. His cousins didn’t visit so he just entertained himself by playing computer games.

He complained of headache in the afternoon so I told him to stop playing. But guess what? His headache disappeared all of a sudden right after I told him that. Hmmm…kids! They will always be kids, huh?

It’s Back to School

Classes started yesterday and the little one was excited to see his classmates again. Though some of his classmates didn’t come to school yesterday, he’s still glad some of them were there. He can be shy with new faces and there were new kids in school – transferees from different schools in the city.

But knowing kids, he got along with the new ones instantly. They already played during their 15 minute break. I was amused watching them. Yesterday was kind of an orientation day and they only stayed for three hours so I just stayed and waited for him. Regular class will start on the 15th so I’ll be a busy mom once again.

Sniffles

The little one has been having sniffles after his first day of swimming lessons. I have this feeling that the reason behind it is because he drank a lot of pool water. Hehe. Nah, I know the heat and the sudden change of weather is the reason behind it. It’s summer here now so it’s super duper hot but as the weather being always unpredictable, there has been rain showers from time to time lately. I love it when it rains because it’s cool and how I wish it would just rain everyday but it is simply impossible.

It’s gloomy this morning and I thought it’s going to rain but nada. It’s been hot since noon actually. Glad the A/C is running and we had no power outage since 10am so I’m enjoying the coolness here in our home office. I am taking this opportunity now for we are expecting another power outage at 7 tonight and it will be hot again. Grrr!

Fun Day For Yogi

It’s a national holiday today so there’s no class for the kiddos. And whenever it is like this, more often than not, my nephews are here at home. They always like to hang out here. They would either play computer games, watch cartoons on TV or simply play outside.

And Yogi is always delighted whenever his cousins are here because they are his playmates. At this time, I can hear them playing outside. They’ve been playing from the moment his cousins arrived this morning and they stayed outside most of the day. I think they’re playing war games again. No problem, for as long as no one gets hurt.

A Yellow Ribbon

In giving support and prayers for the late President of the Philippines Corazon Aquino, every Filipino wore a yellow ribbon yesterday when the President was finally laid to rest. Students of Montessori School were also each given a yellow ribbon for them to wear the other day. Never thought they would until i saw my son Yogi arrived with a yellow ribbon pinned on his uniform. That was such a nice thing for the school to do – letting the kids participate in things such as that though they may haven’t understood what the whole thing was about.

When i asked my son why he has a yellow ribbon, he told me it’s because they love the President. That is such a nice and touching phrase to hear from a 6-year-old boy. Don’t you think so?
