Not Yet, Son

Whenever we go out over the weekend to shop for groceries, my son always asks for a toy. But we don’t give in to all his whims, though. If there is a special occasion coming up, then we consider.

Last weekend, he asked for a new toy car. Gladly it is only a toy car, so, there is no need for us to avail of car title loans Pennsylvania. LOL. And even if he is already grown up and asks for a car – which is something that I am not sure will happen – we will not give him one; he has to work for it and earn it. That is the right thing to do.

Summer is just around the corner and I can really see it coming because the weather is definitely getting warmer and warmer by the day. But, no need to buy tanning kits; I am already tan so there’s no need for me to tan.

But there are people who are so into it that they actually have to buy those kits. But now that summer is almost here, there will be no need for them to buy the kits because I guess they will choose to tan under the sun instead which is free. Do you think so too?

National Aquarium, Baltimore

Sea creatures never fail to amaze kids and of course, that includes my son. Our good friends in Baltimore took us at the National Aquarium when we paid them a visit a week ago.It wasn’t our first to see such a huge aquarium, but we were still amazed.

The silhouettes that you see in this photo are of my son and my girlfriend’s husband and son. They were watching the dolphins when I took this. You could really see the amazement on their faces. I was amazed myself. Cutie dolphins they were!

Jewelry Puts Stars in Our Eyes

I started my day chatting with my mom on Facebook. I will be sending them the gifts that I’ve promised so our topic was centered on what she and my dad wants. I knew she would like jewelry which is one of our weaknesses so, I immediately browsed for jewelry stores online and let her choose for herself. I came across some jewelry deals of the day in one store and the array of jewelry that they had were lovely which certainly caught her fancy.

She has chosen what she liked best, but I didn’t order it right away. I am planning to get her one more thing among the selections which will surely surprise her. Her birthday is coming up next month so she definitely deserves special gifts.

Money Saved is Money Earned

My husband is a fixer-upper kind of guy which is a big advantage here in the U.S. because whenever there is a need to fix something that has got to do with electric or plumbing, we don’t need to call a pro because he can do it by himself which definitely saves us beau coup money.

Just last week, we had a leak in one of our water pipes. Glad he saw it before our trip or we would have arrived back home with a house turned into a pool.

Good thing, it was a quick fix, but he had to replace the quick disconnect plug and had to run to the hardware to get one.

Good job, Honey! As always!

Him and McDonald’s

If there’s one thing that my son and I don’t agree with, it’s his choice of food. He just love food chains. Say, “McDonald’s, Burger King”, etc. I do give in to his requests from time to time like when we are in a hurry or when we are traveling since it’s the simplest and fastest food to take out.

This photo was on our recent trip. We had lunch at McDonald’s because that was the only choice we’ve got and we were still half way through Maryland that time. And I guess you already knew why he so loves McDonald’s. Yeah, the toys. So, it has always been a kiddie meal for him.

See that green sunglasses he was wearing. That was the toy he got.

I Don’t Like Those Creepy, Crawling, Flying Critters

Spring and summer is no doubt the most anticipated time for those who love fair weather. There are a lot of reasons behind it and I guess you already know what it is. It is my son’s favorite weather too, especially summer because it is when he can play basketball more often and also dip in our neighbor’s kiddie swimming pool.

But what I don’t like about it is the infestation of the different kinds of insects and bugs. There are just a lot of them in different forms and sizes. Yikes! I know we can always control them with the use of stink bug traps or more so, totally get rid of them with the use of sprays and such, but still, they continue to come back. But such is nature and we have to live with it.

Are We There Yet?

For our upcoming trip which will be a long one since we have to travel about nine hours and perhaps more – depending on the traffic – I am thinking of getting my son something to be busy with while we’re on the road. We do know that kids get easily bored so I want to get him something so we won’t hear him whining while traveling – the last thing that the husband and I want to hear! LOL.

I guess those wooden puzzles would be a great idea to get him. I like it when he’s working on those mind boggling games – it will not only keep him busy, it will also develop his thinking and ability skills. Agree?

He Still Struggles

To get out of bed every morning, that is. I am talking about our 9-year-old son who after a year of going to school and waking up early in the morning, it is still a struggle for him to get out of bed at 6:30. It sometimes annoys me and the husband actually because we always have to drag him. There were times though that he got up after hearing the alarm clock without us waking him up. And those were the times that we were really glad. But those were only a few times.

I wonder when he will be able to get up on his own every single day. I am hoping it will be soon. Well, summer is almost here though. So hopefully when he starts 4th grade, everything will change. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Just Swinging Away

While I am sitting here in front of our personal computer in the master bedroom, our neighbor’s white hammock distracts me. I can see it from the window beside the computer desk and I can’t help but look at it while it is swaying because of being blown by the wind. It is not connected to one of those hammock stands. Our neighbor just tied it on two trees in his front yard.

And when the tree sways, the hammock sways as well. It makes me feel like I want to sit in there and relax. Well, it is a little chilly outside today because of the rain yesterday so I don’t think it would be such a good idea to try it now. Maybe one day.
